Wirksworth Civic Society

 
 

 

 
 

Formed in 1969, Wirksworth Civic Society aims to promote the conservation, restoration and regeneration of Wirksworth - one of Derbyshire’s oldest market towns. 

The Society aims to encourage high standards of architectural design and town planning; to stimulate public interest and care for the beauty, history and character of the town and its surroundings; to encourage the preservation, development and improvement of features of general public amenity or historic interest; and to pursue these ends by means of meetings, exhibitions, lectures and the promotion and funding of regenerative schemes in the town.
